Frequently Asked Questions
A fondue fountain uses a heated basin to keep cheese, bbq, etc warm and melted. An internal auger lifts the fondue to the top, creating a smooth, continuous curtain for dipping treats. For cold fondues, such as ranch, the fountain can be set to non-warming mode so the sauces stay cool and fresh. The heating element, if used, is only activated when warm fondue is desired.
We supply enough fondue sauce, etc., for the number of guests catered for at your event. Additional sauce, etc can be added when required
For our Fondue Fountain service, the Lil Dipper Pak includes the fountain, your choice of fondue, and skewers. The Lil Dipper Deluxe Pak offers everything in the standard package, plus additional dipping items, serving bowls, table decorations—with color-coordinated options available—and the option to have one or two uniformed attendants if requested. We’re always happy to discuss any special requests or extra requirements to ensure your event is just right.
If requested, we are happy to package any remaining fondue sauces in plastic containers provided by you. Additionally, any untouched dipping foods will also be left behind. It is our policy to never reuse the fondue sauces ourselves.
Using the fondue fountain outdoors is not recommended. This is due to the fact that the fondue sauce must be kept at a constant temperature, and exposure to the outdoor environment may attract flying insects. Furthermore, the fountain is not suitable for use in windy conditions
For our fondue fountain to operate safely, we require a sturdy table with a minimum diameter of 4 feet for round tables or a length of 6 feet for rectangular tables, capable of supporting a weight of 80 kilograms. Additionally, we need access to a 10-amp power supply nearby and adequate lighting for the immediate area. If you prefer linen that is not black or white, please ensure that it is color-coordinated with the event. We also require ample time for setup, dismantling of the fountain, and cleaning up the area afterwards
Our ability to operate depends on the venue. We can typically operate in most venues and hotels that have an in-house or exclusive provider/vendor, but we recommend that you check with your venue before booking with us. The provision of dipping items may also depend on the venue, as they often prefer to provide these items themselves. In some cases, they may prefer to book our services directly. It is worth noting that a large percentage of our clients are caterers, venues, and other event-related service providers. Therefore, we encourage you not to lose hope until we have conducted our due diligence.
To secure the Fountain for your event, we require a reservation, a signed contract, and a $50 deposit at the time of booking. Please note that reservations are limited and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. The balance of your payment must be settled in full at least 3 days prior to your event date. We take exceptions for last minute reservations
We adhere to all food handling specifications and take great care to sanitize our fountains and its components after washing. Our fountains are well-maintained and are considered to be the best in the business. We are dedicated to providing a safe and hygienic environment for your guests to enjoy the fountain experience. Therefore, we strongly encourage customers to observe the following guidelines:
- Use a separate food skewer for each dipping item. No exceptions, as double-dipping is not permitted.
- Guests are not allowed to touch the dipping items or chocolate with their hands to prevent the spread of germs.
